WHO WE ARE
Hi my name is Sabine, welcome to Savory Moments!
Savory Moments was born from my love for family, food, and the traditions that connect us through food in every culture, where every dish tells a story and every flavor invites you to explore something special.
I was born in Limbé, Haiti, a small town on the north side of Cap-Haitian. My love for cooking started early, at just five years old, when I learned the basics in the kitchen with my aunt. She sparked my curiosity and love for the flavors of our Haitian heritage. In the '90s, my mom and I moved to the U.S., and that love for cooking grew even stronger. We spent countless hours in the kitchen, blending the comforting traditions of Haiti with the new flavors and experiences we discovered here in America.
Now, as a mom myself, I find so much joy in teaching my own kids to cook. It’s my way of honoring the past while creating something new. Together, we keep traditions alive, try new ideas, and savor all the little moments in between.
This is a space to celebrate the mix of cultures and recipes from around the globe—where tradition and creativity come together. It’s more than a blog—it’s a place to connect, celebrate where we come from, and enjoy the simple joy of cooking.
Building Communities
At Savory Moments, we believe that food is a powerful catalyst for fostering community connections and bridging gaps between cultures.
Through our blog, we invite you to not only savor the delectable flavors of our cuisine but also immerse yourself in the vibrant celebrations from around the world. From the lively festivals of the Caribbean to the festive traditions of North America, Africa, Asia, and Europe, we celebrate the power of food to connect, inspire, and create lasting bonds within our global community. It’s about creating shared experiences that transcend boundaries and unite us in celebration.
Join our community as we come together with open hearts and minds, and create some delicious memories together!
